There's more than Cocora. Around the finca there are country lanes, rivers and forest, and some of the loveliest outings start very close by. Here are the ones we know, with sources, so you can choose based on your legs, the weather and the time you have.

Santa Rita waterfalls (Boquía)

They're in the vereda of Boquía, the same as the finca. The path passes tunnels and remains of the old railway meant to link Armenia with Ibagué, a project left unfinished in the mid-20th century.

Access is through private land that charges an entry fee; confirm rates and trail conditions on site.

Kasaguadua Nature Reserve

A forest reserve near Salento with ecological walks. Check its website for visit options and how to book.

Before you go

Durations depend on the route, the mud and your pace, so we don't promise them. Ask us the evening before and we'll give you up-to-date directions.

At weekends, from mid-afternoon, buses passing through Boquía can be packed, so plan your return with time to spare.

Tips
